Meet the RMP Executive Team

David Edman
David EmanDavid Edman is the Founder and Managing Partner of Risk Management Partners LLC. David has worked in the healthcare industry for over 30 years, since receiving a BS in Economics at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in Health Services Management from The Kellogg School at Northwestern University in 1978. Throughout his career, David has held senior executive positions in healthcare consulting, operational, and entrepreneurial settings, successfully implementing value-based purchasing, performance measurement, and quality-improvement strategies to assist clients with healthcare cost-containment. David is currently a Senior Scholar in the Department of Health Policy at Thomas Jefferson University, chairs the Health Care Task Force for the Main Line Chamber of Commerce, and is involved in a number of other community organizations. Paul Manz
Paul Manz, a Principal in PATH®, has over 24 years of extensive healthcare management and consulting experience. Previously, Paul served as the Vice-President of Provider Contracting and Reimbursement for Independence Blue Cross. His responsibilities included the design and implementation of a $6 billion healthcare fund. He was also the Division Director of Actuarial & Statistical Service for Anthem Blue Cross in Connecticut, where he was responsible for managed care financial forecasting, group pricing, underwriting and provider payment risk-based systems, as well as the financial management of health plans. Paul also served as the President of a New England–based consulting firm that specialized in the use of large-scale database systems to support providers, payers, and reinsurers for their actuarial, reimbursement, and reporting infrastructures. Paul holds a degree in Business from Villanova University and an MBA in Healthcare Administration from Temple University in Philadelphia. Additionally, he serves as the Chairman of the Finance Committee for Friends Life Care at Home.

Chip Graham
Chip Graham is a Senior Benefits Advisor with Risk Management Partners LLC. Throughout his career, he has focused his experience on serving his clients’ best interests. He understands the importance of an attractive and cost-effective benefits plan for retaining and recruiting staff. During his career, Chip has worked with organizations such as Towers Perrin, USI Affinity (Colburn Insurance), Liberty Mutual, Cigna and various financial services firms. Chip brings a strong commitment to client service and acts a Trusted Advisor to RMP clients. Chip graduated from Plymouth State University with a Bachelor’s degree in business.

John McSherry
A graduate of LaSalle University, John has over 15 years of sales experience with more than 6 years in the insurance industry. His entrepreneurial experiences include running his own contracting business, as well as managing his own branch as a mortgage broker. As someone who values strong relationships, John is looking forward to becoming a trusted advisor to all of his health insurance clients.

Rich Geise
Rich is RMP’s Director of Business Development and an experienced sales coach working with healthcare and health insurance companies. As an expert salesman and talented coach with over 25 years of sales, sales management, and business-development experience, Rich previously led successful sales efforts in the highly competitive technology and software fields, starting his career at IBM, then at several software companies, including Computer Associates, as well as two start-ups. He has now directed his talents and passion toward training other professionals in the powerful methods of the Sandler Selling System. He graduated from Lehigh University with a degree in Finance.

Mary LaValley
Mary is a senior consultant with more than 25 years’ experience in all aspects of employee welfare benefits in a wide variety of industries. Mary is a graduate of Goucher College, where she majored in Sociology with a focus in Social Psychology. Previously she has served as a Vice-President at Johnson & Higgins and a Principal at Mercer. Her expertise includes alternate funding, plan design, wellness, and utilization.

Eileen Bortner, OTR/L
Eileen is the Director of Health Education for RMP and owner of “Integrated Fitness Programs,” a business dedicated to healthy aging. Educated as an occupational therapist and health administrator, Eileen has been providing health-related services to the community for more than 20 years. She has experience in pediatrics and adult medicine as it pertains to rehabilitation, and she continues to stay active in the field. Eileen has also been certified by the National Arthritis Foundation. Her current activities include directing physical fitness programs, as well as speaking on issues related to corporate, academic, and nonprofit organizations.
