Our Process
Introducing the RMP Four-Step Process
Like any other business risk, healthcare is a risk to be managed. It has a profound impact on your company’s productivity and bottom line. At RMP, we understand this and take a risk management approach in the development and implementation of a multi-year plan to help companies gain control of skyrocketing healthcare costs. Our approach involves the following 4-step, interactive and consultative process:
Step 1: Initial Assessment
The RMP Process begins with gathering information about your company’s current health benefits program, healthcare spending, and employees’ portion of costs. In addition, we will assess your company’s healthcare needs and priorities, helping us determine ways to cut costs.
Step 2: Financial Analysis & Strategic Planning
To help you make the best decisions about your company’s future healthcare, RMP will undertake a 4-part planning procedure resulting in a set of actionable recommendations:
- Part I: Summarize current healthcare spending
- Part II: Provide plan options for future coverage
- Part III: Develop a financial model that forecasts healthcare costs for one or more years
- Part IV: Prepare an employee impact statement that projects employees’ healthcare utilization and out-of-pocket expenses for proposed plan changes
Step 3: Client Decision-Making
With input and recommendations from RMP, your company will make final benefit determinations regarding the following health benefit components:
- Health insurance carrier
- Plan(s) to offer (e.g., PPO, HMO, HDHP)
- Employer and employee contribution levels
- Ongoing employee education.
Step 4: Ongoing Evaluation & Support
In concert with each of its clients, RMP engages in a continual process of evaluation and feedback on the health insurance programs that are in place. We’ll meet with you on a mutually agreed upon schedule and frequency, assessing financial results, service and support, employee education programs, and satisfaction.
RMP continues to provide ongoing support with orientation sessions for employees and their dependents to explain new carriers, plan changes, and benefit options. In addition, RMP encourages employees to take advantage of member education and support services provided by their carriers and to participate in wellness and prevention programs to help further reduce healthcare costs.
